I always wonder how these places get reputations for having nothing but bad artists. I NEVER hear deviantart mentioned in a positive light, and I never hear Sheezy mentioned at all. It's really disappointing.
I hear more good things about Deviant than I do Sheezy. Deviant seems more formal sort of, with higher expectations or something, less open. Sheezy is a lot more toned down and open, more childish in a way, but there still are some really amazing people that do work and submit here and I've found a lot more friendlier people on here. I dunno, tis crazy and funny.
Both places are equal in talent. There are simply less people here.
Still, I never ever hear anything good about DA. Whenever someone doesn't like something art related they say "looks like it came from deviantart" or "pretty good... for something from deviantart". I can honestly say I have never ever heard anything good about any of these art sites.
I assume it's because people come here expecting everyone to be good, and then they see a few poorly drawn sonic pictures, a few badly copied anime characters, and then they just assume everyone here is crap. I don't understand how such a generalisation can be justified, but I can't think of any other reason why.
I dunno, but what I do know is that there is a lot of immature kids on sites like this that plague the name of the sites with negative connotations and it's really annoying. Yeah, I've run into a lot of people, on both sites, that give them bad names. It almost seems like the good ones never talk as much, or put themselves out there as much as the annoying people do. It's crazy, I dunno.
But I do know I like being in places like this so full of art and seeing what people are doing, making art friends and cultivating ideas and concepts.
Haha, I tell all my art geek friends about them and sometimes you find out that they knew about them first. It's interesting. It's something fun to screw around with.
I wish I did though. I hate how non arty types think it's "artistic" to draw anything more complex than a stick figure, or even to draw a stick figure in anything but the stock standard stick figure pose.
I have many, lol. Me and a group all took AP together last year and we're best buds now cause we all survived it. It was fun.
Gah, I know! But then again, my b/f kinda blew that out of the water...all he did freshman year was stick people, and I mean really funny comics and stuff. I don't know if it was me that inspired him or what, but he's become a really good artist now with some really awesome ideas and stuff. And he still reverts back to stick people sometimes too x3
YOU ARE NOT ART; YOUR ANATOMY IS SO OFF....but then again we can just call it abstract and it'll be okay, right?

Mood: Carefree
Summer is approaching swiftly. I can tell when I go outside from the feel of the air and the smell of the plants. I can't really describe how the air feels - crackly perhaps.
It was humid all yesterday, and we were treated to a nice heavy shower of rain this morning. I hope it rains more. We're technically supposed to be in stage 4 water restrictions right now because of the drought, but some politician decided that stage 4 restrictions endangers too many jobs.
I've noticed I don't seem to have any summer clothes. I'm not a very summer person. I hate the heat. I spend all my time in the bathroom sitting on the tiles because it's cold in there (we don't have air conditioning). I digress; I need to get some summer clothes.
All the clothing stores nearby are too trendy for my tastes. And the ones with clothing more suited to my tastes are too expensive. Instead of buying new, I now shop at op-shops for clothes. I seem to find far more interesting things in op-shops, and I can tell people I shop there because I'm environmentally conscious.
I am, but that's beside the point.
I saw a pretty dress in the window of the Red Cross op-shop. I doubt it will fit me, it looked very big. I'd like to try it on anyway, but I always seem to walk past when they're closed.
